Every year the three CAMRA branches in Buckinghamshire each decide their own Branch Pub of the Year. These three pubs are then assessed (in detail) by CAMRA members across the county and their scoring of the different aspects of each pub are totalled up to decide the Bucks County pub of the year.
Our Branch Pub of the Year for 2018 is the Chequers in Fenny Stratford (https://whatpub.com/pubs/BUN/1898/chequers-fenny-stratford) and I’d definitely encourage you to visit this newly-refurbished pub under its new manager, Tim. Unfortunately, as a member of this Branch you are only now able to assess the pubs nominated by the other two Bucks branches (and they will judge ours).
So the two pubs I’d like to encourage you to visit and to objectively assess against the quality of their beer, service, décor, etc are:
The Royal Standard, Wooburn Common (https://whatpub.com/pubs/AYL/00007/royal-standard-wooburn-common);
The Rising Sun, Berkhamsted (https://whatpub.com/pubs/MCH/92/rising-sun-berkhamsted).
The official CAMRA form enables you to make a detailed analysis of each pub, so you should download a copy here: ......
Once completed (one or both pubs), email the form to Jenny Ellway (firstname.lastname@example.org ) by Sunday 13 May at the very latest.
